He married Ethel Benson on 21 August 1915 at St Paul Church, Adelaide. [2]
Percy enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force, embarking from Melbourne on 5 January 1916 on HMAT Afric A19. He died from wounds received on 18 February 1917 and was buried in Etaples Military Cemetery, France.
THE LATE SADDLER P. G. PAGET.
Mrs. P. G. Paget, of Johns-street, Lavington, has been officially notified that her husband died of gunshot wounds in the 22nd General Hospital on February 18. He sailed for the front on January 10, 1916. While in Egypt he was transferred to the Australian Field Artillery. He left a widow and one infant son. The deceased was the second son of the late Mr. J. E. Paget, of Adelaide, and brother of Mrs. T. Clark, of Adelaide, Mesdames P. McKay and F. Butcher, of Western Australia, and Miss H. Paget, of Melbourne. Another brother, Saddler E. F. Paget, is seriously ill in the 26th General Hospital, London. The late Saddler Paget was well known in the Teatree Gully and Houghton districts, where he took a keen interest in tennis, and football, and had a wide circle of friends.[3]
