Per my research, the above 115 acres is on Brices Swamp, ie Quiocassin Creek. This is part of the 19 Nov 1663 patent to John Smith, which adjoined on James Merritt. Per my records, Ephraim had married Mary Smith, sister of John Smith.

After 1666, this family lived on their father's patent. This patent was in Old Rappahannock County VA, and later South Farnham Parish, Essex County Virginia. Ephraim and his siblings were likely all born there. Death date and place from his inventory in 1724.
