On 25 November 1697, Joseph being 7-1/2 years old was appointed a guardian, Thomas Snell of Bridgewater.[1]

Mary bp. 13 Apr 1729; In 1754, James Lindsey of Easttown (Easton) in Bristol County was found guilty of assaulting and raping Mary at her father's house. Her minor sister, Susannah was also in the house. Mary was begotten with child. James was sentenced to be whipped and fined.[4]

Joseph died between 24 September 1760 (the date of his will) and 13 Oct 1760, (the date it is probated), in Bridgewater, Province of Massachusetts Bay.
He was buried in, First Cemetery, Bridgewater, Province of Massachusetts. Joseph, Oct. 19, 1760, in 63d y., G.R.7. [Oct. 26, P.R.106.][5][6]
Probate
The will of Joseph Packard of Bridgewater, yeoman, was dated 24 September 1760 and proved on 13 October 1760 in Plymouth. He mentions his wife Mary, and his children, Joseph Packard 3rd, Susannah, wife of Joseph Knapp, Mary Packard, and John Packard. His widow Mary was named the executrix of his estate.[7]
His inventory was taken on 3 December 1760 in Bridgewater. His widow, now Mary Hartwell, executor gave oath to the inventory.[8]
