John died on April 17, 1917 in Greenville, aged 5. He was buried in Duncan Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery, Greenville, Greenville County, South Carolina.[1]
FG memorial has Newspaper clipping from the Greenville News (SC). FS has notes indicating that a total of 6 Owens siblings passed away within a month of each other due to dysentery/Spanish Flu
