Dr. James Alexander Owen served as medical doctor during World War I in France in the 370th Infantry. After the war, he was active in politics in Cleveland, Ohio area where he continued to practice medicine. Dr. Owen served on the board of Trustees for the National Medical Association and was frequently credited for his efforts in the Journal of the National Medical Association.[1]
James was born in 1891 in Natchez, Mississippi. He was the son of Samuel Henry Clay Owen and Sarah J Mazique.[2][3]
James married Marie Thomas in Cuyahoga County, Ohio in 1921.[3]
James passed away in 1955. He was buried in Elmwood Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan.[4]
