Biography

Karl Olsen Leira was born on 15 Mar 1863 in Hjørundfjord, the son of Ole Andreas Rasmussen and Larentse Ellingsdatter.[1]

In the 1865 census, Karl Olsen (age 3) was the son of Ole Rasmussen at Leire in Hjørundfjord.[2]

At the age of 23, Karl married Thomasine Kristiansdatter Viddal, daughter of Kristian Trulsen, on 11 Jul 1886 in Hjørundfjord.[3] Their children were:

  1. Kristian Andreas Karlsen (1887–1975)
  2. Anna Randine Thora Karlsdatter (1889–1966)
  3. Ole Andreas Karlsen (1892–about 1932)
  4. Elen Thomasine Karlsdatter (1894–about 1948)
  5. Laura Karlsdatter (1896–1956)
  6. Elling Karlsen (1898–1985)
  7. Ragna Johanne Karlsdatter (1900–1989)
  8. Kristine Thora Karlsdatter (1903–1956)
  9. Ingvarda Kanutte Karlsdatter (1903–1997)
  10. Karl Thorwald Karlsen (1907–1985)
  11. Berntine Lina Tora Karlsdatter (1909–2006)

In 1891 Karl lived at Viddal in Hjørundfjord with his wife Tomasine and children Kristian and Anna Randina.[4]

In 1900 Karl was a farmer at Viddal in Hjørundfjord.[5]

In 1910 Carl Olsen was a farmer at Viddal in Hjørundfjord.[6]

In 1920 Karl lived at Viddal with his wife Tomasina and children Elling, Laura, Ragna, Ingvarda, Karl, and Berntina.[7]

Karl died on 29 Oct 1939 in Hjørundfjord, aged 76.[8]
