Fabulous email about DNA! You have me taking a close look at Alexander Ogle, Jr., son of Alexander Ogle (b. 1730).

Alex Jr. is around the age of Jesse's mysterious father or perhaps grandfather. (I marked Alex Jr. and Jesse as rejected matches, so we can just instantly pull either of them up to compare, without the risk of accidental merge).

Hi Matt ... I had some major updates to the family website, but I want you to know that I'm studying Aggie Owl. The tradition about Aggie's Cherokee heritage (even if it's been knocked down by DNA testing), has me intrigued ... since my granny Martha Huskey Ogle was said to be part Cherokee, and her father gave William "Billy" Ogle hunting rights on Native American land. Billy did a lot of running around ... from Delaware, through the Carolinas and Virginia. The changing of the map and the establishment of Tennessee after he died, can be a royal pain to follow, but I have to wonder if maybe there isn't some strange truth in Aggie's story.... maybe it belonged to a relative? Hmmmm... LOL!

BTW ... would you add a few words about your DNA sleuthing to Aggie's profile?

Hi cousin Matt! I'm noticing that your DNA is similar to FTDNA KITS:[1]
  • 245800
  • 339766
  • 179042
  • 238867
  • 208988

Did Jim Gilbert mention which branch of the family that might be? If not... I want to ask him.
