Find-a-Grave indicates that her father was Owen O'Neil. On the 1861 Scotland census, there is a Mary, daughter of Francis and Christina, aged 8. Francis is the brother of Owen and living with Owen at the time.^[2] On the 1871 Scotland census, Mary, age 18, is the daughter of, and living with, her father Francis.^[3]
