Biography

Michael O'Connor died at Clarr in 1897. His grandson, Batt, told me that the funeral party was carrying the coffin across a field and was stopped by a fellow named Nolan who told the party he was the property manager and they could not cross his property, so they turned around and walked the body down the Hell Road to Knockanure Churchyard. Batt told me several other Nolan stories, all of which painted the chap as a total badass S.O.B.
