Biography

John Nott was born in Canada.

John, son of Robert Nott & Mary Nott, was born "3 miles south of Clinton, on London Road, Huron, Ontario".^[1] John (age 23) married Eliza Carter (age 22) on 28 December 1865 in Huron, Ontario, Canada.^[2] They had no children, and she died in 1870.

John Nott was a Kansan.

He completed a veterinarian surgeon course, became a veterinarian, and moved to Brussels, Huron, to practice.^[1] Two years later he (age 32) re-married to Ellen Muir (age 19) on 28 October 1875 in Brussels, Huron, Ontario, Canada.^[3] He lived and worked there for 13 years until he moved to Clay Center, Kansas where he continued to work. He had membership in Brussels A. O. U. W. and Court Princess Alexandria O. O. F.^[1]

Ellen and John had six children, and he was survived by all but John: John Arthur^[4], Carrie (Phillips), Mabel, Clarence, Russell, and Herbert.^[1] He died on February 19, 1904 in Clay Center, Kansas^[5] due to "valvular heart troubles".^[1]
