Richard Nott was born in about 1864, place of birth unknown, the son of Janet Nott.

He married Minnie Cox on 28 March 1891 at Narrabri, New South Wales, Australia ^[1] and their children were Charles Richard Nott, Elsie Nott, Alick H Nott, Leslie Stephen Nott, Arthur Patrick Nott, Vera M Nott, Cecil Robert Nott, Jessie I Nott, Clara Jane Ada Nott, Henry E Nott and Richard Francis Nott.

Richard died on 16 September 1950 in Narrabri, New South Wales, Australia ^[2] and he was buried in the Narrabri Old General Cemetery, Narrabri, New South Wales, Australia ^[3].
