• Mrs. Mariah Witham, aged 77 years, 1 month and 2 days, who since the death nine years ago last April 26 of her husband James E. Witham, for years a well known blacksmith at Churubusco, had resided with her granddaughter, Mrs. Homer Phillips at 401 North Walnut street, this city, died Friday forenoon at 11 o'clock, following a relapse Wednesday from a complication of ailments. She was born in Indiana. The date of her marriage is unknown. Of a family of eleven children, three survive, namely, Walter of Wellington, Del., Frank of Allen county, and Mrs. Lydia Jones of Endicott, Neb. Two brothers and three sisters reside in the west. The decedent belonged for years to the Church of God. The funeral cartage leaves the Phillips home Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock for Eel River cemetery where short services at the grave will be conducted by Rev. L. A. Luckenbill.
