Biography

Caroline was born in about 1815, as she was about 35 years old at the time of her death.[1] She married John Auger on the 16th of August 1836 in Holy Trinity Church in Cookham, Berkshire.[2] They were married by banns.

She appears on the 1841 Census[3] with her husband, John, and their two children, John and Eliza, on Bridge Street in Cookham, Berkshire. Her husband was a shoemaker. Also living in the household were two of her relatives, William and George Not, though the exact relation is not specified. William was also a shoemaker. Another shoemaker, Richard Thatcher, was living with the family.

Caroline and John had 7 children together: John, Eliza, Caroline, Albert, Harriet, Charles, and Louisa. Charles died at about 2 years old in 1849.[4][5] Louisa died shortly after her birth in 1850, with both her birth and death being registered in the March quarter of 1850 in Cookham, Berkshire.[6][7]. Caroline (snr) also passed away shortly after, so she may have died giving birth to Louisa or as a result of complications with the birth. She was buried on the 3rd of April 1850 at Holy Trinity Church in Cookham.[8] Her place of residence was listed as Maidenhead. Her death was registered in the June quarter of 1850 in Cookham.[9]
