Alexander was born about 1780. He was the son of Private Richard Northcutt and his second wife Frances (Nunnely?) This coming from narrative on his Findagrave page. He served in the War of 1812 as a Private in 3 Regt. Copeland's West Tennessee Militia from 1812-1815.
"He married Lucy Robinson, daughter of John Boyd (William) Robinson and Lydia Brinn on October 17, 1806 in Oglethorpe County Ga. Their children were John R., Elijah who married Elizabeth Ann Harris, and was a Baptist Minister as was his brother John R.: Jesse J. Northcutt who married Asenath Baber in 1844; Alfred M., married Matilda Morris in 1841; Luke S. married first, Evie Dorsey, second Mrs Fannie Marlow. third, Nettie Cole; Eliza married Mr. Brazeal: Nancy married Mr. Hicks." Alexander Northcutt name appears in the land lottery lists wen he drew land lot number 30. 19th district in Cobb County, Georgia at that time he was living in Campbell County. His last name was spelled Northcott and Northcote at one time formerly used in Virginia. They are found later in North Carolina and South Carolina. The family has many branches in Cobb Co. Ga.
