As a young man, Samuel Norris moved from his birthplace of Wayne, Maine, to Livermore, Maine, He was called of Liverore at the time of his first marriage, in November 1824. He settled in the section of Livermore that in 1844 was set off as the town of East Livermore (and renamed Livermore Falls in 1930). At Livermore, he was sometimes referred to as Samuel Norris 2d to distinguish him from Samuel Norris, born in 1787, who also lived at Livermore; the relationship between the two men, if any, is unknown. He remained in East Livermore until his death in 1885.
Marriages
On 14 Nov 1824, Samuel Norris 2d of Livermore, Maine, and Lydia Higgins of Leeds, Maine, published at Leeds their intention to marry, and they married at Leeds on 23 Dec 1824.[2] Samuel and Lydia Norris recorded nine children at Livermore.
Samuel Norris 2nd married the widow Olive (Wood) Wellington at East Livermore, Maine, on 7 May 1854.[3] There were no children from this marriage.
Death
A gravestone at the Strickland Cemetery at Livermore Falls, Maine, says that Samuel Norris was born on 10 Dec 1800 and died on 1 Dec 1885.[4]
