Hugh Dunbar Nisbet (1868 - 1938)

Hugh was born in 1868. He is the son of Robert Nisbet and Janet Dunbar. Hugh Dunbar's birth was registered in 1868 in the High Church district.^[1]

In the 1871 census Hugh (age 3) was the son of Robert Nisbet at 43, Market Street, Chalmers Formerly Portion of St Johns, Lanarkshire, Scotland.^[2]

In the 1881 census Hugh (age 13), Scholar, was a son at 143, Rose Street, Govan, Hutchesontown, Lanarkshire, Scotland.^[3]

In the 1891 census Hugh (age 23), Grocers shoman, was the single son of Janet Nisbet at 244, Cumberland Street, Govan, Hutchesontown, Lanarkshire, Scotland.^[4]

Hugh's marriage to Lizzie Gunn was registered on 12 Dec 1894 in the Gorbals district of Glasgow. Hugh son of Robert Nisbet, spirit dealer (deceased) and Janet Dunbar (deceased). At the time of the marriage Hugh lived 244 Cumberland Street, Glasgow employed as a provision salesman aged 26. Lizzie was the daughter of William Gunn Eliza Brock. At the time of the marriage Lizzie was also living at the same address as Hugh employed as a tailoress.^[5]
