Biography
Clinton Wakefield "Clint" Nichols was born in Hiwasse, Benton County, Arkansas on 20 Jul 1885.[1][2] He was the son of Robert Franklin Nichols (1857-1929) and Ama Perilla (Galyean) Nichols (1865-1942).
In the 1900 census Clinton (age 15) was the single son of Frank R Nichols in Dickson Township, Benton, Arkansas, United States.[3]

Clint married Grace Gwartney on 17 Jan 1906 in McDonald County, Missouri, United States.[4] Pineville was just a few miles (across the state line) from their home in Hiwasse Arkansas. Shortly after their marriage, the couple moved to Kansas City Kansas, where they lived the remainder of their lives.

Clint's World War I draft card states that he was born on 20 Jul 1884, but all other records (including Social Security and family records) state that he was born on that day in 1885. For example, his railroad pension states that he was born Jul 1885[12]
