Biography

Jerusha Newcomb was born about 1846, details unknown. She married William Williams, the date not yet found. They were shown together in various censuses between 1855-1880 at Ellisburg, New York. Most records showed no middle name. Other records appeared to show her name as "Jerushia".

A record from New York State Hospital at Utica shows that Jerusha Williams, age 70, was a patient in 1900 but few details are known. The record said she was unable to read and write. Was it the same person? Unknown.

(A marriage certificate of her daughter, Marion Williams, 11 June 1901 at Cleveland, Ohio, showed the bride's mother as "Jerushia Newcombe". Nobody excelled at spelling!)

Jerusha passed away in 1911 at Cleveland, Ohio - if indeed this is the same person.
