Biography

When Raymond/Ray Elbert/Robert Nevius aka Nevins was born on October 24, 1887, in Enterprise, Oregon, his father, Elbert Wilberforce Nevius and his mother, Samantha Rosetta Smith. He married Bernice Marjory Warner and they had two children together. He then married Maybelle/Mabel/May Helen Schwiers and they had 11 children together. He died on July 18, 1946, in Roseburg, Oregon, at the age of 58, and was buried in Roseburg Memorial Gardens, Roseburg, Douglas County, Oregon.

This is where he is known as Robert R Nevins. He was born as Raymond Elbert Nevius. In 1924 when married to Maybelle Helen Schwiers (2nd wife), he changed his name to Raymond Robert Nevins per Marriage License, 4 Jun 1924. The Certification from State of California, Marriage License, states Maybelle Helen Schwiers, marries Raymond Robert Nevins.
