Biography

Lovina was born in New York about 1830, the daughter of Henry Nevins and Mary Smith. She married William Rockwell 27 March 1847 in DeKalb County, Indiana.^[1]

The 1850 census shows Lovina (age 20) in Union Township, DeKalb, Indiana, with her husband and their baby son, Henry M.^[2] In 1860, Lovina (age 30) and William are living in Union Township with their five children and Lovina's younger sister, "Marthia" (Martha).

Since Lovina does not appear on the 1870 census, which shows her husband and the four children in Wilmington Township, DeKalb, Indiana,^[4] she may have died between 1860 and 1870.
