Robert Naylor was a part of William Penn's Pennsylvania Settlers community.

Origin

Robert was born in Manyash, county of Derby, England.[1] His birth date c. 1662 is a guess, probably based on his immigration in 1683.

Joshua Fearne, who was also from Derbyshire in England, was also living at Darby Township

Family

Robert and Elizabeth (Unknown) were married in England and migrated from "Manyash, County of Derby" (possibly Monyash in Derbyshire) in 1683.[1] The settled in Darby, by a stream that is now know as Naylor's Run.[1]

Robert is in the list of those who witnessed two marriages at the Gwynedd Monthly Meeting, and he and his son, Joseph, both witnessed one of them.[1]

Darby Township

Robert settled in 1683 at the Darby Township (now Upper Darby), Chester (later Delaware) County, and was taxed there in 1693. Robert served as Supervisor of the township in 1694, as the Constable in 1696, and as a Fence Viewer in 1697.[1]

Robert's son, Joseph removed to Plymouth township, Philadelphia County, in about 1711, and Robert joined him there sometime before he died in 1717.[1]

Whereas my son Joseph Naylor is indebted to me for £6, he shall have the use thereof for seven years, and then pay said sum to my dau. Priscilla Naylor, to whom I give the residue of estate.
