Les susdits époux ayant reconnu avoir eu avant le présent mariage trois enfants encore vivants, savoir Marie-Marguerite âgée de 5 ans, Francois-Xavier âgé de 2 ans et Marie-Celina âgée d'un mois et 10 jours, les deux premiers nés au Grand Lac et le derniere née à Temiskaming, je les ai légitimés autant que de besoin

François, son of François Naud & Marguerite Arcand, was born on 1 Oct 1800 and was baptized on 2 Oct 1800 in Deschambault, Québec (Quebec), Canada.^[4]

Francois, recently arrived from Grand Lac Victoria (Témiscamingue) where he was employed for 10 years as a Guide for the Hudson Bay Company, married Elizabeth Mcpherson, daughter of Andrew McPherson, consultant for the Hudson Bay Compagny, and of Ikwadens (?), Indigenous woman from Grand Lac, on 15 Sep 1838 in Montreal (Montréal), Québec (Quebec), Canada. At the same time, there three living children, Marie Marguerite (5) and Francois Xavier (2) born in Grand Lac, and Marie Selina (one month plus 10 days) born in Temiscamingue, became legitimate children because of the marriage of their parents. ^[5]

In the 1861 census Francis (age 64) was living with his wife Elizabeth (40) in Hincks, Ottawa, Canada East.^[6]

François died on 2 Oct 1875 and was buried on 3 Oct 1875 in Gracefield, Québec (Quebec), Canada.^[7]
