Biography

Oliver was born in 1830.[1]

Page 4 of New Hampshire Sentinel, published in Keene, New Hampshire on Thursday, January 2nd, 1862, announces that Oliver L Nash has been mustered into Company F, Sixth Regiment New Hampshire Volunteers on 1 Oct 1861.[2][3] He served for 1 year, 3 months, and 6 days, mustering out on 7 Jan 1863.

He married Ruth Rebecca Coombs, daughter of Anthony and Martha (Coy) (Ritter) Coombs of Winchester, New Hampshire, on February 1, 1865. She bore him three children. She passed away in Winchester on March 17, 1882.[4]

On September 9, 1883, he exchanged vows in Brattleboro, Vermont, with Florence Mable Perkins of South Royalston, Vermont. She was the daughter of Horatio and Mary Ann (Richardson) Perkins. Florence and Oliver had two sons, both dying young. Florence contracted tuberculosis and died in 1893 in Troy, New Hampshire,

At the age of 67, Oliver married Mary Ellen (Whitney) Damon of Hubbardston, Massachusetts, a divorcee. She was just 22.[5] They had a son, born in Troy, New Hampshire,[6] who lived 5 days.[7] A second son, Oliver Leonard Nash, Jr. was born in Troy on 18 January 1900.[8]

Oliver (Sr.) passed away in 1904,[9] and is buried in the Evergreen Cemetery, Winchester, New Hampshire.[10]
