Sarah was born in 1835 in Oxfordshire England. Daughter of Robert Munday (Labourer) and Elizabeth Rymills.
She was Baptised on 7 June 1835 at Sydenham, Oxfordshire, England.[1]
The England & Wales Census of 1841 shows her in Oxfordshire aged 6, with her brother Thomas aged 4 and her sister Frances aged 2.(Frances was known as "Fanny")
The family left Sydenham England, bound for Australia, arriving on 29-4-1844 aboard the ship United Kingdom in Sydney. Her family included her parents Robert, aged 26 and Elizabeth 27, and siblings Thomas 6 years, Robert aged 3, Benjamin 3 months, and Fanny aged 11.
Sarah married John Ross on 29th November 1853 at the Church of Scotland, Heidelberg, Victoria. [2]
They had eleven children together.
Husband John passed away in 1886.
In 1905 widow Sarah Ross (Home Duties) and son Albert Ernest Ross (Labourer) lived in Balcombe Rd, Cheltenham, Victoria. [3]
Sarah passed away on 22nd August 1908, a widow aged 73, [4] and is buried at Cheltenham Pioneer Cemetery, Methodist, Section E, Grave 142, with her husband who died in 1886, and some of her children. [5]
Probate granted on 20 October 1908. [6]
Sarah is the niece of Samuel Mundy mentioned in his death notice of 1903, along with her sister Fanny (Mrs George Woff).
