Evidences from Contemporaneous Records

Joan Munchesney who was married to Walter of Colchester could not have been the daughter of this Roger de Munchensy who was born circa 1118. Joan was 24 when an Inquisition was taken after the death of her brother, Hubert de Monte Kaniso during the reign of Henry III.[2] Hubert's Inquisition is undated but in 1269 Joan, her husband, Walter of Colchester, Joan's sister, Euphemia, and Euphemia's husband, David de Balcorahigh, paid a fine to have seisen of Joan and Euphemia's inheritance from Hubert.[3] Therefore Joan, 24 years of age before the fine was paid in 1269, so born circa 1245, could not have been the child of a man born in circa 1118.

Hubert's Inquisition also states that Agatha (Agasia) late the wife of Roger de Monte Kaniso held in dower a third part of the whole manor of Stratford, Suffolk, but the relationship between Hubert, Joan, Eupehmia, and Roger and his wife, Agatha, is not specified.[2]

It would appear the merge of Roger Munchensy-34 into this profile was in error as the birth dates do not work for daughter Joan Monchesey-1. She is listed as born before 1245 which would make Roger Munchensy-2 127 years old when she was born. The birth date of Roger Munchensy-34 of abt 1210 and the birth date of his wife Agatha UNKNOWN-89269 of abt 1220 (now missing from her profile) works well.
