some strange stuff possibly in this link: 1850 census shows a GW Rogers in the home of Julia Ann Rogers but 1 yr old. as our GW has a birthdate of 1843 (from death cert), this seems to be substantially different in the timeline. 1850 census lists a sister that's more likely what we would find regard to GW's age..could the census taker mixed up the ages?? Would this make GW a Roger by adoption by Ezekiel later?? are we even talking the same person??

there appears to be an Ezekiel Mullen who passed in VA in the civil war. The death register lists said Ezekiel at 30 at time of passing in Apr 1862. THis would mean that Ezekiel's DoB to be around 1832. With our GW being born in 1843, it's highly unlikely that the civil war Ezekiel is GW's father.

there is subjective (yet to be confirmed) date of death of 11-Apr 1862 in VA as a casualty of the civil war. The records from civil war do point to a discrepancy in age, but this is not unusual.
