Kathy Denice Mullin Abel, age 47 of Bastian, VA passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center at Christiansburg, VA. Born April 30, 1974 at Bluefield, WV she was a daughter of Ethel Marie Akers Mullin Ward and the late Larry Keith Mullin. Kathy was strong willed and kept everyone on their toes. She enjoyed the outdoors, the beach, fishing, going hunting with her husband, playing candy crush, bingo, scratch lottery tickets, loved flowers and greenery even without blooms. She also loved farming, driving the farm tractor, and farm animals-her favorite were pigs. Most of all, she loved spending time with family, especially her grandbabies! Her son and daughter were her best friends. In addition to her father, Larry Keith Mullin, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Kenneth Ward; mother in law, Ollie Mae Abel.

She is survived by her husband of twenty nine years whom she proposed to and married two weeks into dating, Richard Allen Abel; son, James Allen Abel; daughter, Gabriella Abel and husband, Cody Jackson; brother, Brian Keith Mullin; sister, Anna Marie Mullin-Dancy and husband, Raymond; grandchildren, Casey and Olivia Jackson; father in law, James Abel and step mother in law, Peggy Abel; many special aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. obituary
