Andreas Muellenberg was born on 20 Jul 1837 in Stommeln, Jülich-Kleve-Berg, Preußen, Deutscher Bund, son of Mathias Muellenberg (~1802–1868) and Margaretha Anna Fotzler (~1803–~1868)^{[citation needed]}.

Andrew immigrated to New York on 16 Jul 1856 (age 19) aboard the Ship Pyramid from Antwerp, Belgium to New York City, New York bound to settle in Wisconsin^[1][2].
