John was born about 1823 based on his marriage date.
John's marriage to Sarah Sophia Winter (1822 - 1867) was registered in the Oct-Nov-Dec quarter of 1845 in the Coventry district, Warwickshire.[1]
In the 1851 census John (age 27), Manager of gas works, was the married head of household in Moxley, Bilston, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England.[2]

John died on the 19th July 1885 in Staffordshire, England and his estate passed probate on the 3rd August 1886 in Lichfield, Staffordshire. His Will was proved by Emma Bowne Winter of 58 Stanton Road, Stapenhill, Derbyshire a spinster and sole executrix.[7]
