Moseley Jr. and John Moseley of Linhaven Parish, Princess Anne County, Whereas John Gookin dec'd our grandfather late of Linhaven had 640 acres granted him by patent dated 12 Oct 1692 at the head of the [Little?] Creek of the Eastern Branch of Elizabeth River in Linhaven, by right of inheritance belonging to his only daughter Mary, widow of Capt. Wm. Moseley late of Lower Norfolk County, now wife to "father-in-law" Lt. Col. Anthony Lawson, by judgment deed dated 15 Aug 16??: to Col. Lawson, Mason, Jn. Poole Sr., the aforesaid 640 acres until William Jr. and John are of age... Col. Anthony Lawson and loving neighbor Henry Burrough to make division on 29 Nov 1690... line from land of Richard Poole and Lancaster [?], WSW to pine north of William Smith's dwelling, N to head of branch and down said branch: Wm. Jr. to receive land on the eastward side and John the land on the westward side witnesses: Lemuel Phillips, Malachee Godfrey, James Peters Princess Anne Court: Acknolwedged in open court by Wm. and John Moseley each to other this 4 Jan 1692/3[1]
