Biography

Amanda Louisa Mosley was born in Alabama in 1858. She was the daughter of John W. Mosley and Elender Henderson. Her father died in the Civil War in 1863. Her mother died about the same time. Amanda went by the name Mandy. After her parents death, Mandy and her younger sister Elizabeth went to live with her father's sister Lavinia Mosley who had married John Logan. In 1884, Mandy married Charles F. Horton. They were the parents of three children. Mandy died in Alabama in 1937.

Footnote: In the 1870 Census, Amanda Mosley is living with her aunt Lavinia Mosley who was married to John Logan. The Census lists her as Amanda Logan along with her sister, Elizabeth Mosley, listed as Elizabeth Logan. They were living with their Aunt and Uncle after the deaths of their parents around 1863. Amanda and Elizabeth remained Mosleys despite living with the Logans.
