John Morris was born in Harrison County.

John Kent Morris was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia on June 24, 1936 to Ferril Morris and Agnes Duncan. He was the only child born to the couple.

John was initially raised in Salem, West Virginia but sometime between his birth and 1940, the family moved to Allegheny City, Pennsylvania. However, by 1942, the family settled in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

John attended college, completing 4 years of study. He lived in Ohio and married a woman named Sandra. In the 1990s, he lived in Adena, Ohio.

John died in an Adena, Ohio hospital on May 22, 1997. He was 60 years old. He is buried in Olive Branch Cemetery in Harrisville, Ohio.
