Biography

This profile previously showed a birth date of 31 May 1553 at Yardley and death date of 12 Jul 1637 but no such entries in 1553 or 1637 are recorded in the Yardley Church Register.^[1] Furthermore, no matching baptism, burial, or remarriage entries have been found for her, nor have any records for the surname Morken in Worcestershire - but there are Morgans.

Birth year entered as 21 years before marriage date.

Nothing is known of Margery other than her marriage to Richard Gilbert at St. Edburgha in Yardley on 25 Jun 1575. The marriage entry reads "Richard Gylberde and Margary Morken".^[2]; her parents are not known.

Although not named in the baptism entries for her husband Richard's children (only Richard is named), she is assumed to have been the mother of all of them and hence living until after the last one Thomas was born in 1589.
