Carol,

We've made a change in how the tutorials are sent to new members. Instead of weekly messages you can now work at your own pace, so this is the last message.

How is it going so far? Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions?

We want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

PS Sometimes links don't work in emails. You can always find a link that works in the public comments on your profile.

Hello

It's time for your next stop on the guided tour!

This week, we'd like to show you How to Join in the Community. There's no shortage of opportunities to get involved through social media, our forum, and projects.

Be sure to check out the One Name Studies Project to see if anyone has started a project for one of the surnames in your family. Don't see one? Follow the instructions for starting your own!

Questions?, Just ask!!  :-)

PS. Some email accounts do display the link, if so please view here on your personal page.

Welcome! We are so glad you are here! Please make sure each of your Cooper profiles has a birth year, birth place and at least one Source. If you don’t have exact information, please mark your best guess as Uncertain. Thanks!

Are you related to me, Cooper-1: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Relationship

Is the surname Cooper on your Tags Followed? http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Following

We have a Cooper Name Study to assist you with your general research and genetic genealogy: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Cooper_Name_Study

There are links on the Cooper Name Study page to our Cooper One Name Study, Pending Merges, Unsourced Profiles, Error Lists and the Cooper DNA Project. There are plenty of opportunities to add and improve Cooper profiles. Thank you!

Hi again!

You've been here a week now, and we hope you enjoyed your first stop on your guided tour of WikiTree and were able to make good use of the things you learned.

Our next stop will give you some pointers on how to make your profiles stand out: How to Make the Most of a Profile.

If the link doesn't work in your email, you can find it in the public comments on your profile page. As always, your questions are welcome! Check out our g2g forum at: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/

Hi Carol,

Congratulations on being Pre-1700 certified! With the certification comes a strong recommendation to choose a project which best fits the pre-1700 profiles you'll be working on. Since you've joined recently, you'll be getting tour stops introducing you to all kinds of WikiTree wonderfulness for the next several weeks. I'd recommend waiting for the Week 2 tour stop which includes information about projects.

In the meantime, be thinking about the particular time periods, locations, and topics in which you're interested. Do you have some historically-significant ancestors? Take a look at the list of [active projects] for ideas.

Have questions? Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Hi Thanks for joining us!

Welcome to this wonderful site ! I'm a member of the Mentor project, and I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Hope you had lots of fun reading "How to Start Climbing Our Tree". I would be happy to answer any relevant questions you have, please feel free to ask!

Regards Ronel

Carol, you are now a confirmed member of WikiTree. As we've said, WikiTree is quite different from other genealogy sites. So, we've put together a guided tour to help you learn how to use it. Your first stop is How to Start Climbing Our Tree. Next week, you'll get another message with your next stop on the guided tour.

Our G2G forum is a great way to get to know our community! Join the fun with our Question of the Week: Were any of your ancestors involved in the American Indian Wars?

Tomorrow, you'll hear from a Mentor who will check in to see how you're doing and answer any questions you might have.

Thanks for becoming part of our shared WikiTree!
