Mina Marguerite Yannick deLancey was born in the summer of 1951, the fourth daughter of Gérard Morin and Beverley Robinson. She passed away in Montreal in 2023.
A lover of language, Yannick earned a master's in Linguistics at the Université du Québec à Montréal. She worked as a free-lance translator and editor; she was an avid reader and conversationalist as well as a lifelong gardener. Her practical skills led her to help build a house, to sew a tent for winter use as well as clothes for herself and for family and friends. She had a genius for friendship, and wove strong and lasting relationships with family and friends. While she never married or had children of her own, she helped a friend raise three sons and remained close to this family all her life.
