- The baptismal record PRDH has linked to Josephe Morin who married Nicolas Gamache is for Françoise Maurice Morin. The reasons for this are unclear at this time. Should sources support a different birth/baptismal date this biography should be corrected but for now the PRDH record is taken as authoritative.
Françoise Maurice was born 4 Apr 1767. She was the daughter of Maurice Morin and his wife Anne Miville. She was baptized the next day in Ste-Anne-de-la-Pocatière. [2]
On 31 Jan 1785, in L'Islet-sur-Mer, Nicolas Gamache son of Alexis Gamache and Heleine Chalifour married Josephte Morin daughter of Maurice Morin and Josephte Minville. Witnesses include both fathers and other named relatives, one signature: R. Couillard. [3]
Marie Josette Morin, 58 year old wife of Nicolas Gamache, died 24 May 1813. She was buried 2 days later in the church of Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Secours de L'Islet. She had been the first assistant of women of the Sainte Famille and was on the verge of becoming it's Superior. [4]
