Biography

Much of this information came from Margaret’s obituary in Y Cyfaill.^[1]

She was born in Cwrt Mawr farm in Llangeitho, Cardiganshire, Wales, on 7th November 1822, the daughter of George and Eleanor Morgans, and the grand-daughter of David Evans, Y Wern.

When Margaret was 14, her family emigrated to from Melin Llanio (Cardiganshire) to Ohio. On 3rd December 1847, aged 25, she married Benjamin Williams^[2]. At first they lived in Gallia Furnace, and subsequently they moved to Horeb. They had five children, two of whom predeceased her and one a few days following her death:

• David B. Williams, 21 July 1850, aged 3 months;
• Eleanor B. Williams, 18 April 1856, aged 8 months;
• William B. Williams, 3 January 1860, aged 4 months and 15 days.

The surviving children were Evan and George (sources to be added).

Margaret died on 21 December 1859 and was buried two days later in Horeb cemetery.
