Margaret (Morgans) Rees was born in Carmarthenshire, Wales.

Margaret was born in 1844 in Llangadock, Carmarthenshire. She was the daughter of John Morgans and his wife Anne.

In the 1861 census Margaret (age 17) was the unmarried daughter of John Morgans in Penwaen, Llangadock, Llandovery, Carmarthenshire, Wales.^[1]

Margaret married William Rees, son of David Rees, of Penybont, Llangadog on 17 November 1865 in Llangadog, Carmarthenshire, Wales. At the time Margaret was living at Penywaun, Llangadog - just across a couple of fields.^[2]

In the 1871 census Margaret (age 29) was the wife of William Rees in Velindre, Llangadock, Llandovery, Carmarthenshire, Wales. They had 3 daughters; Anne (age 4), Rachel (age 2) and Margaret an infant.^[3]

In the 1881 census Margaret (age 35), charwoman, was the wife of William Rees in Penybont Cottage, Llangadock, Llandovery, Carmarthenshire, Wales. William was working as a railway labourer. At home with them were daughters Margaret (age 10), Elizabeth (age 8) and son John (age 2).^[4]

In the 1891 census Margaret (age 47) was the wife of William Rees in Penybont Cottage, Tynewydd, Llangadock, Llandovery, Carmarthenshire, Wales. At home with them was son John (age 12) and daughters Rachel (age 9) and Eleanor (age 5) ^[5]

In the 1901 census Margaret (age 59), was a butter forol & egg merchant, was the wife of William Rees in Penybont, Llangadock, Llandovery, Carmarthenshire, Wales. Daughter Eleanor was living with them.^[6]
