Abiah was named as an heir in the will of his father, Evan Morgan, whose will was recorded in the October term of 1799 in Edgefield, South Carolina.[2]
In the 1800 census Abiah was in Edgefield, South Carolina. The household was males: 1 under 10, 1 10-15, 1 26-44 and females: 3 under 10, 1 16-25, and one enslaved person.[3]
In the 1810 census Abiah was in Edgefield, South Carolina. The enumeration included males: 1 10-15, 1 16-25, 1 26-44; females 3 under 10, 2 10-15, 1 26-44, and three enslaved persons.[4]
In the 1820 census Abiah was in Edgefield, South Carolina. Free persons included 1 male 45 and over, females: 2 under 10, 1 10-15, 1 15-25, and 1 45 and over. Enslaved persons were males: 4 under 14, 1 26-44; and females 2 under 14, 2 14-25, and 2 26-44, for a total of 11.[5]
In the 1830 census Abiah was in Edgefield, District 96, South Carolina. The household included Males: 1 under 5, 1 60-69; females: 2 10-14. Enslaved persons were males: 1 under 10, 1 10-23, 1 24-35, and females: 3 under 10, and 1 36-54.

Abiah died on 8 May 1856 and was buried in Parksville, McCormick, South Carolina.[7]
Abiah's will was proved on 3 November 1856 in Edgefield, South Carolina.[8] Originally written in 1830, he amended it in 1839, after his son, Evan preceded him in death. He included legacies for two of Evan's children by his first wife: Dempsey Morgan and Franklin Morgan. His will indicated that he had already made multiple distributions. His will included the distribution of enslaved persons, as follows.
His son Evan Morgan - an enslaved man named Sam.
His daughter Olive Robertson - an enslaved male named Peter.
His daughter Polley Robertson - two enslaved females named Rose and Charlotte.
His son Drury Morgan - two enslaved males named Sam and Bill Harbour.
His daughter Maria Cartledge - enslaved female named Inde and her child Sarah, and an enslaved male boy Jack.
His daughter Nancy Mealin - enslaved boy named Joe and girl named Sarah.
His daughter Lucretia Bussey - enslaved female named Caroline and boy named George.
His daughter Loretta Morgan - enslaved female named Katy.
His daughter Tabitha Morgan - enslaved female named Hannah.
