Shirley Corbin Morgan was born on the 28th of December 1878 in Aberdeen, Harford County, Maryland. He was the son of William Morgan and Effie Salter.
When war with Spain was declared in 1898, the Maryland National Guard was mobilized. Shirley C. Morgan joined the Guard as a 2nd Lieutenant on the 13th of May 1898. He served in the Company "D", 1st Maryland Battalion, Maryland National Guard during the Spanish American War. [1][2]
1st Lieutenant Shirley C. Morgan was released from Active military duty on the 5th of July 1905. [3]
Miss Aronton M. Butt and Mr Shirley Corbin Morgan of Baltimore were married on Tuesday evening, the 2nd of April 1918. [4]
Shirley passed away on the 28th of July 1965 in Baltimore, Baltimore City, Maryland. He was buried in the Baltimore National Cemetery, Baltimore City, Maryland (Plot: Section : J, Site: 1253). Inscription: 1st LT, CO D, 1 REGT, MD INF, SP AM WAR" [5]
