Biography

Robert was the 5th child of Ernest and Julia Smith Morgan. The family lived across from his grandparents Nelson and Bessie Morgan's dairy farm in Allegany, New York. His grandmother Bessie died when he was 2 years old. The family helped grandfather Nelson run the farm. Nelson went to live with his daughter Robert's aunt in the Village of Allegany in about 1950. Robert later ran the dairy and lived across the street where he grew up with his first wife where they raised 5 children; Jeffrey, Susan, Kevin, Elaine and Anita Morgan. He and 2nd wife and built a home on Cherry Valley Rd. in Allegany. He worked for the Town of Allegany Highway Dept for many years and became the Superintendent. In later years he worked for Peck Construction Company and was part owner of a car wash in Franklinville, N.Y. He lived near his son Kevin in Florida during the winter months and returned to Allegany for the summer with long time companion Marcein Steele.
