Biography

John was born in 1865.

In the 1901 census John (age 35), School master, was the married head of household in Highgate, Llangadock, Carmarthenshire, Wales. The household at the time was as follows;

In the 1911 census John (age 45), was now the Head Teacher, still living in Highgate, Llangadock, Carmarthenshire, Wales. Living with him were wife Mary Anne, sons Jacob and John, and daughters May (possibly Mary) and Gwen. Jacob was an undergraduateat Jesus College, Oxford.[2]

In the 1939 register John, School Master, retired, was widowed and living in Highgate, Llangadog, Carmarthenshire, Wales. With him was Gwen now a Welsh schoolmistress and a Housekeeper, Charlotte.[3]

John died on 24 May 1949 and his estate passed probate on 24 August 1949 in Carmarthenshire, Wales. At the time of his death he was still living at Highgate, Llangadog. Probate was granted to Jacob, a Schoolmaster and Gwen.[4]
