Wendy went to the first Montessori School in the UK. Her father, Frank Newton John Morgan, was educated at Bangor University. Her grandfather was related to the Earl of Caernarvon. Wendy's mother was Monica (Mona) Agnes Wood.
In the 1939 England and Wales Register, Wendy was 17, working as a hospital nurse and living with Eliza Sharp, the elderly post office caretaker at the (now Old) Post Office in New Road, Moreton-in-Marsh, North Cotswold.[1]
Wendy married Gerry (Smith) Hill-Smith in the Brighton district in about January 1940.[2]
After they married, Gerry and Wendy changed their last name to Hill-Smith. They had 3 children: Michael Frank Alfred Hill-Smith[3], David L C Hill-Smith[4] and Peter G J Hill-Smith[5]. David may have passed away as an infant.
After living and working in Guernsey, Wendy and Gerry retired to Hove in Sussex. Wendy may have died in Hove.
