Harold David Morgan was born on 11th October 1898 at Woonona, a suburb of the City of Wollongong, New South Wales (Australia). He was the son of Thomas Morgan and Ellen Sweeney. ^[1]

Harold married Philomena O'Mara in 1924 at Bathurst, New South Wales. ^[2]

Harold was commissioned as an officer in Australia's Commonwealth Military Force (Militia) and, as a Major, commanded the 9th Australian Infantry Battalion whilst it garrisoned Brisbane's northern suburbs and then Caloundra, on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. His next of kin was listed as his wife, Philomena. ^{[3] [4]}

Harold married Grace Mary Schafferius on 18th December 1965 at Hervey Bay, Queensland. ^[5]

He passed away, aged 83 years and nine days, on 20th October 1981 at Hervey Bay. His ashes are placed in the Maryborough Crematorium Memorial Park, Maryborough, Queensland. ^{[6] [7] [8] [9]}
