Biography

William Alexander was born on 10 December 1836 in Cross Plains, Calhoun, Alabama, USA. He was the son of Jeptha Washington Morgan and Rebecca Striplin.[1]

In the 1850 census William Alexander (age 13) was living in Household consists of: Jeptha 37, (2nd wife) Elizabeth 42, Nancy 15, William 14, Rebecca 13, Archibald 10, Thomas 7 and John 5. [2]

In the 1860 census William Alexander (age 23) was living in Household consists of: J W 46, (Farmer), Elizabeth 50, Samuel A 20, William 23, Thomas 17, John 14, and George 12. .[3]

When William Alexander was 24 he married Catharine Bollinger on 20 December 1860 in Calhoun, Alabama, USA. The couple had 9 children: Barto Morgan, Rebecca Ann Morgan, John Braxton Morgan, William Thomas (Willie) Morgan, Johnny Jackson Morgan, Fannie Ree Morgan, George Washington Morgan, Emma Morgan and Julia Lee Morgan.
