Biography

Jacob was born in 1900. ^[1] He was the son of Adolph Mora and Esther Kirchenbaum.He passed away in 1945, and was buried in Oak Woods Cemetery in the Hyde Park area of Chicago, Illinois.^[2][3]

He was a Private in the SATC (Students Army Training Corps)at the University of Chicago from Oct 11 1918 to 11 Dec 1918.^[4]

The various death records below name his father as Aaron Mora rather than Adolph Mora which appears in the Census records.

He was a physician and surgeon, graduating from the School of Medicine, University of Chicago, in 1925. He was later an Assistant Professor of Surgery there. He was a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, a specialist certified by the American Board of Surgeons, a member of the Chicago Surgical Society and of the Chicago Pathological Society. He interned at the Cook County Hospital, and was also consultant at Passavant Memorial Hospital, Kankakee State Hospital, and finally attending surgeon at Mt Sinai Hospital, where he died, age 44.^[5][6]

8 Aug 1926: marriage to Alice Lee Rosenthal in Chicago.^[7] Alice died 22 Mar 1929.^[8]

He appears as a son in the 1910 and 1920 Censuses, which can be viewed on Adolph Mora. At the time of the 1930, Jacob, recently widowed, was living with Harry and Freada Dobry, Jacob’s sister, and their son Alan.^[9]

13 Apr 1931: marriage to Reva Sally Jacob in Chicago, Illinois.^[10]

His wife at the time of his death is listed as Louise. 2 Jun 1936: marriage to Louise R Ederheimer in Chicago.^[11]

20 Jul 1941: birth of son Jeffrey Guy Mora^[12]
