Jonathan Dennis Moon was born in 1876, named for his paternal grandfather Jonathan Moon as well as his father Dennis Moon.[1] His passport application documents list his place of birth as Snow Camp (Alamance County).[2] He married Mamie Rich in 1902 who died in 1907 having had two children, Blanche and James.[3]
He married second Carolyn Page about 1910 who passed away in 1919 leaving two children, Harry and Jack.
Divorce records found in Virginia dated 26 February 1930 coupled with his December 1923 passport application indicate Jonathan had married a third time to Irma Marguerite Paxton while overseas at the American Consulate in Jerusalem, Palestine, Asia on 1 March 1924.[4] At the time of this record he listed his place of residence as Ft Pierce, Florida.[5] (That place of residence is seen on some other documents from this period.) His return from overseas was recorded at New York 8 April 1924 on the ship Olympic from Southampton.[6]
