Just checking in with a few quick tips:
Free Space pages are wiki pages for supplementing your family history. They can be used to profile anything of significance such as a special pet, a meaningful event, a school you attended, a family heirloom .... They're "anything pages".
Not sure what to include in a profile? Check out our Biography Ideas and Styles and Standards help pages.
Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.
If you have any questions, please ask!

Welcome!
My paternal grandfather was Charles MOON (1869 in Addingham - died 1924 in Ilkley) and his wife was, Sarah NUTTMAN, w(born 1875 in Whitechapel, London- died 1965 in Norfolk). My grandfather's ancestors for many generations were born near to Bolton Abbey, where many of them were baptised, married and buried. I have found many instances where two, or more, members of the MOON family have been born within 2-3 years of each other and identifying which is which has been quite problematic. I am hoping that as well as contributing some data I can find out how to be specific in identifying my correct line of ancestry.
The help pages give lots of information about the process. Here's a good start: 'Before you import a GEDCOM'.
Here's a link to some great step-by-step instructions.
GEDCOM-created biographies need a lot of editing, so don't worry if/when another member edits the new profiles. You can read how to do some of it yourself here. When in doubt, leave info in, and let someone else edit that part.
You might also like to read discussions tagged as GEDCOM in the G2G forum.
Happy WikiTreeing, Carole

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful. Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies. If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles. Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.
