Big Y700 YDNA Haplogroup R-BY194967 Earliest Known Ancestor.
Hugh Montgomery[1] was born in Ireland 12 Oct 1657,[2] to parents as yet undetermined. In about 1682,[3] he married Jane Patrick[4] and they had five children.[5]
↑ Oral Montgomery (1987, Vol. 3, p. 2-3) does not mention a first name of the husband of Jane Patrick and father of the five children listed below. He is called simply "Mr. Montgomery". The name "Hugh" appears in both the CMSI and Monty Hist Notes databases, but in neither case is the name "Hugh" documented.
↑ The source of these specific dates of birth and death is unknown. Though they appear in both CSMI and Monty Hist Notes, they are undocumented.
↑ Oral Montgomery presumes the marriage took place between 1685 and 1690.
↑ There is debate over the surname of Hugh's wife, perhaps as a result of different Hughs being married to different Janes. For more information, see Jane Patrick's profile.
↑ This list conforms to what is found at CMSI and Monty Hist Notes, and these five are the only children mentioned by Oral Montgomery.
↑ Both CSMI and Monty Hist Notes claim that Hugh died in Abbeville, South Carolina, where his daughter Catherine and several of her children died. This information is undocumented and in any case would be highly unlikely, given that the same databases put his wife's death in Ireland in 1745.
