Albertus van Niekerk was the son of Jacobus Cornelis Claasse Moll and Maria Rachel van Niekerk. He was born 7 April 1853 and baptized on 12/6/1853 in the D.R. church Riversdale, Cape Colony. The baptism was witnessed by Albertus Petrus Borcherdus van Niekerk with Marie Magdalena Marais and Albertus Petrus Borcherdus van Niekerk with Johanna Jacoba Swart and Maria Credozia Georgina Smuts with Ferderik Holm. ^[1]

Marriage

Albertus van Niekerk Moll (22) was married to Susanna Catharina Magdalena Klopper (16) on 18/12/1876 at Langberg, Wakkerstroom, by Pastor D.P. Ackerman, witnessed by JG Kruegler and Thos. F. Klopper . Civil entry 4427 in the register.^[2]

Occupation

He a successful farmer at Dwarsbalk in the Wakkerstroom district.

Anglo Boer War

He however suffered great losses with English during the ABW. He lost his son Jacobus in January 1900 on his farm, which was plundered & burnt, and most livestock stolen. He lodged a claim after the war to recover losses, however we all know, these claims were never fullfilled
